1970s Vintage Emmanuelle Peacock Armchair & Wicker Side Table, Italy

Canonized both in political history by Black Panther Party leader Huey P. Newton in 1967, and in pop culture by the 1974 French film “Emmanuelle” —this Peacock Chair remains an absolute pillar of mid-century bohemian luxury and high-end tropical modernism.

The armchair commands attention with its dramatic, towering, rounded backrest. It boasts an incredibly intricate, open-weave lattice pattern flanked by meticulously braided rattan borders. The base and the accompanying side table share matching decorative geometric diamond motifs woven directly into the dark accents of the natural fiber, creating a cohesive beautiful silhouette. 

Both pieces are in excellent vintage condition, consistent with their age and history. The structural integrity is completely sound, and the woven rattan exhibits only minimal, light age-appropriate wear.
