White glass pendant ” Capsule ” designed by Ross Lovegrove for Artemide. Italy 2010
Designed and launched in the 2010, as the name implies, this design treasure is made of a capsule of light that extracts a new form from the process of manual glassmaking, designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Apollo landing on the moon.
Capsule: Height: 93cm diametre 45cm. Height glass capsule: 33cm
Materials: etched blown glass diffuser; silicone rubber lamp holder support.
Conditions: Very good. Glass cleaned and polished, Wiring system revised by our electrician. In ver ygood conditions with only few signs of time.
About the designer:
Graduated in 1980 with BA Hons Industrial Design 1st class. His professional career began with collaborations with various industrial design studios in London and Stuttgart.
In 1984 he went to Paris at the invitation of Knoll International. During his stay in Paris, he was a member of the “Atelier de Nîmes” with Philippe Stark and Jean Nouvel.
Returning to London at the end of 1987, he carried out projects with numerous companies active in the field of product and furniture design.
Winner of numerous international awards, his work has been widely published and exhibited, for example at the Museum of Modern Art and the Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Axis Centre in Japan, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, and the Design Museum in London.
