Vintage Design Ceramic and Murano Table Lamp, Model Lampalla
The “Lampalla” Table Lamp, designed in the 1970s by Alvino Bagni for Ceramiche Alvino Bagni SAS, Italy, features a sophisticated spherical design with a white ceramic base and a Murano glass shade. Known for its high-quality craftsmanship, this lamp remains in very good condition, with only minimal signs of age.
Alvino Bagni (1919-2000) was an Italian ceramic artist and designer renowned for his sculptural ceramics and tableware. Born in Lastra a Signa, Italy, he began his career in the 1940s, working for prominent Italian ceramic companies, including Bitossi, where he served as artistic director.
In the 1950s and 1960s, Bagni established significant relationships with American design and business figures, notably Raymor in New York and Rosenthal, creating modern items for these companies. Bagni’s creations have been widely exhibited in Italy and internationally, held in collections of major museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. He received numerous awards, including a Compasso d’Oro for design in 1956.
